Bruno Maxitone No. 315 Banjo Ukulele
Rare to find in this condition!
Don’t be fooled by its plain looks — this Bruno Maxitone No. 315 is a genuine pre-war player’s gem. Dating 1926, it was produced in the United States, during the golden era of the banjo ukulele boom.
Professionally set up by Alan Yates Music, it’s been given a light clean and polish, full fret dress, cleaned fingerboard and frets, and new strings. The result is a bright, lively instrument that’s full of character, ready to perform straight from its case.
It also comes with a lovely piece of period case candy — an old pitch pipe tuner — tucked neatly inside its original green-felt-lined hard case, showing honest wear from nearly a century of life!
These banjo ukuleles were originally marketed as an entry-level models, the Maxitone series were surprisingly well-built instruments, and the No. 315, complete with resonator, was considered the more desirable version compared to the basic open-back style. With a good setup they play and sound remarkably well — and this example is no exception.
