Banjo Ukulele Society

Celebrating the banjo uke – in music, history, and friendship.

Banjo Ukulele Society

The Banjo Ukulele Society (B.U.S) was founded by Alan Yates Music as a community hub — a space to give players and enthusiasts a friendly place to connect, share music, and celebrate the instrument.

In-Person Events

From informal meet-ups to larger organised occasions, the community is there to keep the banjo-uke alive and thriving.

Come and join the Banjo Ukulele Society in Blackpool and celebrate ‘World Banjo Ukulele Day’ as well as the 3rd birthday of B.U.S.

19th November is World Banjo Ukulele Day, a day to be observed around the globe.

World Banjo Ukulele Day celebrates the instrument, the music, the players, and its history.

Bring your banjo ukulele, if you have one, or even just a ukulele or banjo. Join us for an evening filled with fun and laughter. This is a wonderful opportunity to reunite with old friends and to make new ones. Whether you're a seasoned player or a beginner, everyone is welcome to join in. Prepare for an engaging atmosphere where music and camaraderie come together.

  • Places are limited, so you need to pre-book through Alyson at Alan Yates Music. You can call us or email us for your reservation.

  • The event is £2.00 per person (pay on arrival) and open to both players and non-players.

  • Join us from 7pm until 10pm to connect with fellow banjo ukulele enthusiasts for a fun evening of strumming and conversation.

  • A fully licensed bar, soft drinks, and beverages will be available for purchase.

  • Parking is available in the surrounding area, and the venue is easily accessible via tram and bus routes, just a several minutes from Blackpool North train station.

Rebecca and Mark, the owners of the Beaucliffe Hotel, are truly welcoming and friendly hosts. If you're considering a stayover, you can expect a clean and relaxing environment. Based on our experience, their breakfast is particularly delightful; it’s a highlight that you certainly won’t want to miss. The warm atmosphere and attention to detail make for a lovely stay. https://www.thebeaucliffe.co.uk/

We look forward to seeing you there - Alan & Alyson.

Additionally we will also announce details of other banjo ukulele events hosted by other organisers
